Stayed 2 nights in Durham on a city break, and before we went I searched Tripadvisor for good restaurants. This was the top choice and we printed a 25% off voucher from VisitDurham site and took it with us. When there we booked a table for the friday evening and were not disappointed. We were seated upstairs which I can recommend, the room is fantastic, the food excellent, especially as locally sourced, AND the voucher was accepted which was great. Thoroughly good. 5 stars.

As others have mentioned, the pre 7pm special offer is very good value for money, albeit with quite a small choice on a reduced menu. That said, the food was tasty, the interior is well laid out with an informal casual feel, and had no complaints about the service. My gluten-free wife was also well catered for, with the chef knocking up a flour-free sauce for her meal to replace the standard one.

Staff were efficient without being overbearing. I'd recommend this to anyone either living in or travelling to Durham. I had wild boar pie, which was dellicious and had belly pork for main course.
Would give 10/10 if I could.
